The SkillUp Sri Lanka Career Guidance Programme, organized by the Future Lanka Research and Development Foundation in collaboration with the Presidential Office, was successfully held today at Christ Church Boys’ College, Baddegama. The event aimed to empower A/L students with valuable career insights and guidance. We were honored to have Mr. Sisitha Ramachandra from the Faculty of Technology, SLTC as a panelist, inspiring students towards brighter career paths and future opportunities.

DIGITAsia Project Kickoff Meeting Successfully Concludes in Sri Lanka!

The DIGITAsia Project (Digital Transformation in Asian Higher Education), co-funded by the Erasmus+ Programme of the European Union and coordinated by the University of Zagreb, Faculty of Organization and Informatics, Croatia, was officially launched with its Kickoff Meeting held from February 12–14, 2025, in Sri Lanka. Sri Lanka Technology Campus (SLTC) proudly hosted the first two days of the event, bringing together esteemed partners from nine universities across Croatia, Maldives, Spain, and Malaysia. This collaborative milestone marks the beginning of a transformative journey toward digital innovation in higher education, driven by Education 5.0 principles, learning analytics, and hybrid learning design. SLTC CIR Lab Wins 1st Runners-Up at Inter-University 3D Printing Make-A-Thon!

We proudly announce that a group of students from the Computational Intelligence and Robotics (CIR) Research Lab won the 1st Runners-Up at the Sri Lanka Inter-University 3D Printing Make-A-Thon for Assistive Technology competition held at the University of Kelaniya!  This prestigious competition, organized by the University of Kelaniya, occurred from February 22–24, 2025. The event challenged university students to design innovative 3D-printed assistive devices that address real-world challenges faced by individuals with disabilities. Competing against 13 teams from over 10 state and non-state universities, our CIR team impressed the judges with their AutoCAD, 3D design, and 3D printing expertise. Their solution a 3D-printed assistive device designed to enhance comfort and accessibility for individuals with mobility challenges was developed in close collaboration with need-knowers, ensuring real-world impact and effectiveness. Unlocking Higher Education Opportunities with MOHE Interest Free Student Loan Scheme!

The Interest-Free Student Loan Scheme (IFSLS) Workshop organized by the Ingiriya Divisional Secretariat Office provided 2024 A/L students with valuable insights into higher education opportunities and financial assistance options. Held at the Ingiriya DS Office premises, the session aimed to educate students on how they can access interest-free student loans to pursue their academic aspirations without financial constraints. Mr. Affkhar, the Head of University Enrollments at SLTC Research University, served as the resource person, guiding students through the IFSLS application process, eligibility criteria, and the diverse degree programs available under the scheme. His session also highlighted career pathways and academic opportunities that students can explore through SLTC, ensuring they make well-informed decisions about their future. The workshop provided a crucial platform for students to clarify their doubts, interact with experts, and gain a clearer understanding of their educational journey beyond A/Ls.

The session was designed to equip officers with the latest knowledge and tools to guide students effectively in their career pathways. Dr. Mohamed Azmeer, the Head of the Department of Applied IT from the Faculty of Computing and IT at SLTC Research University, led an insightful session, shedding light on modern career trends, digital transformation, and the evolving job market. He emphasized the increasing demand for AI-driven careers, digital marketing, and IT-based professions, providing valuable strategies for career guidance officers to integrate into their advisory roles.
