Honored to Host the Ambassador of Nepal at SLTC – Paving Global Pathways for Education and Collaboration

SLTC had the privilege of welcoming H.E. Dr. Purna Bahadur Nepali, Ambassador of Nepal to Sri Lanka, together with Mr. Vijay Kumar Raut, Counsellor, on his official visit to the campus. During the visit, the delegation engaged in discussions with Prof. Chandrika Wijeyaratne, Vice Chancellor of SLTC, and senior academic heads on fostering academic collaborations, cultural exchange, and future strategic partnerships between Sri Lanka and Nepal. This engagement reflects SLTC’s ongoing commitment to building transformative global connections that empower students, broaden opportunities, and strengthen educational ties across borders.

SLTC Agriculture Technology Students during International Training Program in China

The Sustainable Agriculture and Environmental Research Center (SAERC) at Sri Lanka Technological Campus (SLTC) is proud to announce the successful initiation of an international knowledge exchange program in collaboration with Professor Lai of Sichuan Agricultural University, China. This partnership, facilitated by Dr. Sangeeth, Center Lead at SAERC, is designed to advance research and training in agriculture, genetics, and plant breeding. As part of this collaboration, a select group of students from the Agriculture Technology Department, Faculty of Technology, had the unique opportunity to participate in advanced training in plant breeding and genetics at Sichuan Agricultural University from 22nd August to 1st September. This milestone marks the very first time such a program has been implemented, offering students a transformative international learning experience. During the training, students gained hands-on exposure to cutting-edge techniques and research practices, enhancing their technical skills and broadening their global perspective on agricultural science. Their feedback reflects the exceptional value and impact of this experience. Importantly, this international training program will be conducted annually, strengthening SLTC’s commitment to global academic collaboration and ensuring that future cohorts continue to benefit from this world-class learning opportunity.

Future Leaders in Action: BBM Students Explore Port Operations

Our third-year BBM (Hons) Supply Chain Management & Operations Management students recently had the invaluable opportunity to visit the Sri Lanka Ports Authority as part of their Port Management & Operations module. During the visit, students explored core areas such as container handling, terminal operations, and maritime logistics, gaining firsthand insights into how one of South Asia’s busiest and most strategic ports operates. This experiential learning journey allowed them to bridge academic theory with the real-world dynamics of global trade and port management. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Admiral Sirimevan Ranasinghe, Mr. Chamara Wijayawickrama, and Mr. Pradeep Karunathilaka for their guidance and support in making this visit a remarkable learning experience. At SLTC, we take pride in nurturing future-ready professionals equipped with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to lead in the ever-evolving fields of logistics, supply chain, and maritime industries.

SLTC at the Colombo Regional Event of the100th Year Quantum Anniversary!

SLTC was proud to be a part of the Colombo event of the 100th Year Quantum Anniversary Project, held on 11th September 2025 at BMICH. The event was organized by the Future Lanka Research and Development Foundation. The event, themed “Employability in the Quantum Era – Tomorrow’s Careers in Engineering, Life Sciences & Sustainability,” brought together over 400 A/L Science students from leading schools in the Western Province. SLTC’s presence was highlighted by the participation of our esteemed Council Member, Prof. Rosa, who joined the panel discussion and shared his thoughts on “How Quantum Science has Helped Shape Modern Careers”. In addition to the panel discussion, SLTC actively engaged with students through its exhibition space, where STEM-related innovations and interactive demonstrations were showcased. Our representatives interacted with attendees, guiding them on future-ready career pathways and opportunities in science, technology, and engineering. This event was a powerful platform to inspire the next generation of scientists, engineers, and innovators to thrive in the quantum era.

SLTC BBM Students Gain First-Hand Exposure to Air Cargo Operations at BIA

Our final-year BBM (Hons) Supply Chain Management & Operations Management students had the privilege of visiting Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) as part of their Import and Export Management module. The field visit offered students a unique opportunity to experience air cargo operations, an essential link in the global supply chain that ensures the smooth flow of goods across international borders. By observing cargo handling processes in action, students were able to bridge theoretical knowledge with practical industry insights in real-world logistics. We extend our heartfelt appreciation to Mr. Chitrananda Jayasekera, Mr. Rajatha Medawewa, Mr. W.A.D.B. Thushara, and the BIA team for their invaluable support in making this experience possible. Building Leaders Beyond the Classroom

The SLTC MBA community gathered on 30th August 2025 at Che Adventure Park for an inspiring Outbound Training Programme. The program was designed to go beyond classroom learning, immersing students in team challenges, leadership tasks, and adventure-based activities that enhanced their collaboration, resilience, and problem-solving skills – key attributes of impactful business leaders. This memorable experience not only strengthened bonds within the MBA cohort but also provided valuable lessons in leadership and adaptability.
