Guiding Future Commerce Leaders at EBS Kuliyapitiya

Sri Lanka Technology Campus (SLTC), as the official University Partner for EBS Kuliyapitiya, hosted a comprehensive career guidance session for the 2025 A/L Commerce students. The session aimed to provide students with clear insights into higher education pathways, emerging career opportunities, and the skills required to thrive in today’s competitive professional environment. The program featured Mr. Joel Nishanthan, Chief Financial Officer at SLTC, who shared practical guidance on career planning and professional development. Ms. Tharani Sooriyaarachchi, Lecturer and Head of the Department of Accounting and Finance, provided expert advice on academic pathways and opportunities within commerce. Mr. Aruna, Outreach Consultant at SLTC, engaged with students to guide them in making informed decisions and preparing for the challenges of higher education. Through the session, students were inspired to think critically about their futures and take confident steps toward achieving their career goals. SLTC remains committed to empowering young minds and supporting the next generation of commerce professionals.

Empowering Commerce Students at Anula Vidyalaya, Nugegoda

Sri Lanka Technology Campus (SLTC) conducted a dedicated career guidance session for the 2025 A/L Commerce students of Anula Vidyalaya, Nugegoda. The program focused on helping students understand future academic pathways, industry opportunities, and the importance of building essential skills for a changing world. The session was led by Mohamed Affkhar, Head of Sales at SLTC, who shared valuable insights into higher education options and emerging career trends in the business and commerce fields. SLTC continues to support Sri Lankan students by providing guidance, knowledge, and inspiration as they plan their futures and prepare to step confidently into the next chapter of their journey.

Supporting Future Leaders Through Career Guidance!

Sri Lanka Technology Campus (SLTC) partnered with Mr. Osanda Nimsara, Founder of EconBiz and a leading English-medium tutor for A/L Economics & Business Studies, to deliver an insightful career guidance session for 2025 A/L students. The session focused on future-ready academic pathways, emerging career opportunities, and essential skills to succeed in a rapidly evolving world. Representing SLTC, Luxshan Rajkumar, Student Admission Counsellor, engaged with students and provided guidance on higher education options, inspiring them to take confident steps towards their future goals. Sri Lanka Technology Campus continues its commitment to empowering Sri Lankan youth and supporting the next generation of thinkers, innovators, and professionals.

SLTC at International Forum on AI Innovation in Apparel

We are delighted to announce that five SLTC staff members — Dr. Deepika, Dr. Ruwanga, Dr. Amila, Dr. Sangeeth, and Ms. Baghya — have successfully completed the Training of Trainers Programme “Future Ready Educators” and earned the title of Certified Trainer under the Erasmus Project DIGITAsia. A milestone achievement contributing to the advancement of future-ready education at SLTC.

SLTC Faculty Members Represent at Global Workshop on Innovation and Sustainability through AI Technologies

We are proud to share that Mr. Udara Rathnayake, Department Head – Textile, Fashion and Clothing Technologies, and Ms. Kumudika Sasindri participated in the workshop on Innovation and Sustainability through AI Technologies hosted by the International Trade Centre (ITC) and TaF.tc International at ITMA Asia, Singapore Expo. The sessions explored how digital and AI-driven solutions are transforming apparel manufacturing, with insights on virtual prototyping, digital product design, and AI integration for enhanced sustainability and competitiveness in the apparel sector.

Guiding the Future Leaders at Visakha Vidyalaya, Colombo!

The SkillUp Sri Lanka National Youth Empowerment Program, in collaboration with the Future Lanka Research and Development Foundation, visited Visakha Vidyalaya, Colombo, to guide students toward building meaningful careers. Prof. Rosa from Sri Lanka Technology Campus (SLTC) joined as a panelist representing SLTC, sharing practical insights on skill development, career planning, and how students can equip themselves for the opportunities of tomorrow. He encouraged students to explore their potential, develop critical skills, and take proactive steps toward achieving their goals. Through sessions like these, SLTC continues to support the next generation in gaining clarity, confidence, and the tools they need to succeed in an evolving professional landscape.

The SkillUp Sri Lanka National Youth Empowerment Programme, organized in collaboration with the Future Lanka Research and Development Foundation, continued its mission to inspire and guide young minds at Mahamaya Girls’ College, Kandy. Dr. Nicoloy Gurusinghe, Department Head – Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Faculty of Engineering at Sri Lanka Technology Campus (SLTC), led an engaging session focused on skill development and career guidance. He encouraged students to identify their strengths, explore new opportunities, and prepare for the rapidly evolving world of work. Through his session, Dr. Gurusinghe shared valuable insights on the importance of developing modern skills, adaptability, and a growth mindset—key ingredients for success in today’s competitive landscape. Dr. Sanika Wijayasekara , Dean Faculty of Computing & IT , represented SLTC at the South Asian Centre for Teacher Development’s event held on 23rd October 2025, celebrating Global Media and Information Literacy Day, an initiative by UNESCO to empower educators and students in the digital age. Together, we continue to inspire responsible, informed, and creative learning communities !

Empowering Academics on “Mastering Research Supervision, Examination, and Review”

The Faculty of Business Management, in collaboration with the Staff Development Center of SLTC, successfully conducted an insightful workshop on “Mastering Research Supervision, Examination, and Review” for the academic members of SLTC on 16th October 2025 at the Trace Expert City Campus. The session was led by Professor (Chair) Tharusha Gooneratne, Department of Accounting, Faculty of Management and Finance, University of Colombo, and Senior Professor (Chair) Arosha S. Adikaram, Department of Human Resources Management, Faculty of Management and Finance, University of Colombo. The session focused on key areas and real challenges faced by supervisors, examiners, and reviewers. It highlighted how to guide and evaluate research effectively while maintaining ethical standards in academia.
